KRISTIN GARRETT MONTGOMERY

is the Advocacy Manager for the Strategic Behavioral Health Initiative (SBHI,) a collaborative effort led by the American Academy of Pediatrics CA-3. The SBHI aims to assess current behavioral health resources and needs for children and youth and develop a roadmap to a comprehensive continuum of care that meets the needs of all children and youth in San Diego. Kristin has spent the past 25 years working to improve the health and well-being of San Diego’s most vulnerable populations. Kristin most recently served as the COO of Children’s Legal Services of San Diego, a non-profit public interest law firm dedicated to protecting and defending the rights of children in the juvenile justice system. Kristin spent 18 years leading the Community Health Improvement Partners (CHIP,) a collaboration of multi-sectoral partners advancing long term solutions to priority health needs. In addition, Kristin has served as Director of Public Advocacy for the Hospital Association of San Diego & Imperial Counties and as Associate Vice President, San Diego Market Leader for Molina Healthcare of California. Kristin received a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Service Administration from San Diego State University, Graduate School of Public Health.
